Technology has been changing at a rapid pace over the past few years and so are conferences. It’s a great time to head to one of the newer conferences like ASP.NET and HTML5 DevIntersection from April 8 - 11 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV. I’ll be there with a whole new round of sessions myself including talks on JavaScript, TypeScript and a full day workshop on building Single Page Applications.
Of course, there’s much much more too including many great speakers like:
- Dan Wahlin (fantastic presenter and a great personal friend of mine)
- Carl Franklin (legendary .NET developer of .NET Rocks fame)
- Richard Campbell (awesome presenter, knows his stuff cold - also of .NET Rocks fame)
- Kathleen Dollard (brilliant Visual Studio)
- Scott Hanselman (one of the best and funniest presenters in our industry)
And of course there are many more!
If you want more incentive to come, check this out (I pulled this quote off the event’s web site):
We are offering a great Show package that will include a Surface with Windows RT tablet and a full-day workshop.
Day of Single Page Applications (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
Single Page Applications have been a hot topic. If you’ve been itching to learn how to build one, register for the full day Single Page Applications workshop on Monday, April 8th. You must register for the workshops so be sure to do that when you register for the conference.
Add’l Fee $449.00
Single Page Apps (SPAs) focus on delivering better user experiences with significant client-side interactions using JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS. Now you can get started with SPA using the ASP.NET SPA Template. This workshop explores the core pieces that help you build end-to-end SPA solutions including code structure and modularity, using data binding and MVVM, abstracted remote data calls, page navigation and routing, rich data features, and responsive design for mobility. Along the way I'll also touch on popular libraries such as Knockout, Durandal, and Breeze. This workshop covers:
-
SPA fundamentals
-
Key components to Rich Web Apps using HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript
-
Microsoft's ASP.NET SPA Template
-
The importance of Separation of Concerns (SoC)
-
Screen composition with Durandal
-
JavaScript patterns for creating organized code
-
Managing remote data calls with AJAX and jQuery
-
Data binding with Knockout.js
-
Using rich data solutions with Breeze.js
-
Navigating among multiple views in one page using Sammy.js
-
Responsive web design with CSS3 and media queries
I’m also presenting or a few other sessions. Be sure to stop by and say hi!
