Silverlight 2 Firestarter
I’ll be presenting a MSDN Firestarter event on Silverlight 2 at the Microsoft Office in Tampa, FL on Friday October 24th. This is a free event, you just have to register online to reserve your spot. I included a summary of the event below and all of the information you need to register. We are working on getting some swag to give away. Already we have several copies of some Silverlight books (none of them mine since mine is due out in December) and others.
Microsoft invites you to attend:
MSDN Firestarter: Silverlight 2.0 and Data Access
While Silverlight empowers developers to use their .NET and XAML skills to develop Rich Internet Applications, it also can be used to build data driven Silverlight applications that communicate with multi-tier architectures. This session will demonstrate how to build Silverlight 2 applications that communicate with and consume REST styled, RSS, WCF, ASMX and POX web services. We’ll also conquer cross domain concerns, use LINQ to XML and LINQ to JSON to manage response content. This session will also show the various data binding techniques that can be used in Silverlight using XAML, the DataContext and the Silverlight 2 control set, how the notifications work with XAML based data binding, and implementing resources. Examples will be shown using both Expression Blend and Visual Studio.
This will be a whirlwind 3 hour presentation of various topics that are all included in my forthcoming book Data Services with Silverlight 2.
